Enrichment Opportunities

The Winter/Spring Course Curriculum is now available!

The Big Backyard, LLC offers a curriculum of classes so you can spend quality time with your children and help enhance their learning. We have built a curriculum that provides opportunities for children of all ages, includes options for both working and stay-at-home parents, and will meet the different interests of your children.

Registration begins on Tuesday, December 9 at 9 a.m.  Please complete the registration form. You may e-mail it to contactus@thebigbackyardwi.com or turn in the form in person. In person registration takes priority over e-mailed forms.  Registration is first come, first serve. 

Curriculum highlights:

Art

Our art classes are 2 - 3 week sessions celebrating a special occasion or season during the year. They will introduce your child to multiple mediums including paste paper, paint, charcoal, cray-pas and more. The target audience for art is three years and older.

Music

This fun, sing-along musical activity is designed for children and their parents/caregivers.  Enjoy traditional children’s songs, finger plays, instruments, dance movements and puppetry that tell stories within songs! These classes are appropriate for children starting at 6 months of age up to four years old.

Sign Language

We offer two different sign language classes. The first is for adults or caregivers to learn how to communicate with preverbal, hearing babies and toddlers. You will learn how to use simple signs to engage your baby in two-way communication.

The second class is a signing story time class for one to four year olds. Your toddler/preschooler will learn many ASL signs in a fun, exciting way that makes them easy to remember!

Spanish

Our pre-school Spanish class is designed for children ages 1 ½ - 5 ½ to learn the Spanish language in a lively group environment.  We will sing songs, play games, read books, learn new vocabulary and practice the basics of conversation. 

Our elementary Spanish class is offered for children ages 4 ½ - 10 ½ and will focus on Spanish culture, conversation and vocabulary through games and small group activities.
