The Big Backyard offers a curriculum of classes your children are sure to enjoy! Whether you are looking for opportunities to spend quality time with your child, ready for a break while he or she enjoys a class, or want your child to explore a particular subject, we have options for you!

The classes are well organized, taught by excellent instructors, reasonably priced, and so much fun for the kids! All classes include a FREE open play pass equal to the number of sessions in your class.

Currently we are only offering classes during the summer.  Check back in April for our updated summer course catalog.

Move & Groove in Music

Target Audience: Ages 1 – 4 years (plus a parent or caregiver)
This fun, sing-along musical activity is designed for children and their parents or caregivers. Enjoy traditional children’s songs, finger plays, rhythm instruments, dance movements and puppetry! Give kids an interest in and love of all kinds of music. Adults – be prepared to sing, dance, and be silly along with the kids.
Cost: $40 per session (4 classes)

Fun with Food

Target Audience: Ages 5 – 8
Who doesn’t love a craft you can eat! We’ll get a little messy with good reason. We are combining art and food for a tasty good time. Some we will enjoy in class and others you can take home to share with the whole family.

Art Explorers

Target Audience: Ages 2 – 4 years (plus a parent or caregiver)
These beginning art classes are a fun, interactive way to introduce your toddler to art. Each class will be structured in a similar format to help develop a routine. We will sing a welcome song, do a craft project, and then end with a story matching our theme. Please bring a smock or old t-shirt as we tend to get messy!

Superheroes in Training

Target Audience: Ages 5 – 8
Are you ready to save the world? You’ll need to sharpen those super powers before you take on any villains.bJoin us to learn what it takes to be a superhero. We’ll test your strength, speed, and agility through games, projects, books, and play. It will be an adventure!

Little Animal Lovers

Target Audience: Ages 2 – 4 years

Come join us to learn about the animals we welcome into our homes as beloved pets. Each week we will study a new animal and have fun learning by reading stories, making crafts and singing songs.

Class Policies

Confirmation of Registration
Each registration will receive an e-mail confirmation including course title, dates, times, and amount paid. This confirmation will also serve as a receipt for registrations received via e-mail or phone.

Cancellations
To cancel your registration, please call us at 262-797-9117. Credit can only be given for classes that continue to meet the minimum number of participants after the cancellation. If the class minimum is still met, a credit for the classes not yet held will be given to your family for use with future class registrations or for open play. No credit will be given for classes that have passed, regardless of attendance. If you would like to request a refund, a $10 processing fee will apply.

Waiting Lists
Any participant that wishes to take part in a class that is full may place their name on a waiting list. There is no guarantee for placement. The waiting list is compiled on a first come, first serve basis.

Medical Conditions
If there are any medical conditions that could affect your child’s participation in a class, please contact us to discuss the matter. We are glad to work with you to ensure that your children are able to participate and remain safe.

Age Requirements
The age requirements for our classes are guidelines. If you believe your child is ready for a particular class but does not meet the age minimum, please call us to discuss it. Some classes have more flexibility than others.

Inclement Weather
Cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced on local radio and TV stations. Every effort will be made to reschedule classes cancelled because of weather; however, if a class cannot be rescheduled you will be given a credit or refund.
