Developed with a philosophy that centers on young children, we offer a unique experience that both children and adults will love. You will not find coin-operated video games, tickets redeemable for prizes, inflatables, or areas for parents that are separated from the play area. Rather, we provide the opportunity for children to run, climb, ride, slide, and burn off energy while also encouraging creative and imaginative play. While fun and appropriate for school aged children, The Big Backyard is committed to creating an environment suitable for children as young as one year old. This target market gives us two advantages. First, we create loyal customers when families have young children and can remain customers for many years. Second, it opens our market to stay-at-home parents or caregivers who want to provide social interaction and physical activity for their children during the day. While many other children’s businesses experience peak times on evenings and weekends, we spread out our busy times to include daytime hours. Census bureau statistics show a 15 percent increase in the number of stay-at-home moms over the past 10 years.
